Kolkata Vs. Calcutta

A city of contrasts, a city of tale
A city of rock, a city of frail
A city of “SCREAMS”, a city of “DREAMS”
A city of complexes, a city of palaces
A city so dark, a city of light
A city of cold, a city of warmth
A city of cry, a city of joy
A city so luxurious, a city so comfortable
A city of rain, a city of pain
A city so modern, a city so humble
A city of greed, a city of need
A city so bold, a city so old
A city of doom, a city of boon
A city so costly, a city so cheap
A city of restlessness, a city so quiet
A city so unearthly, a city so tolerant
A city as high as sky, a city so down-to-earth
A city so fake, a city so real
A city of competition, a city of competence
A city of nervousness, a city of confidence
A city so congested, a city so vacant
A city of rich, a city of poor
A city of unhealthiness, a city of health –which is the true wealth
A city of window-dressing, a city of artistic value
A city of shopping marts, a city full of moths
A city of flyovers, a city of traffic jam
A city converting tastes for pizzas, a city which was a bread earner for few
A city losing its independence, a city which fought for its independence

Whatever we say to compare them one thing is true:“Somewhere in the hearts of true Kolkatans Calcutta is still lively because in times of festivity and disaster the true spirit of Calcutta and Kolkata is same."
